The Cleanup – Megan Green

The Cleanup – Megan Green

39844232Boy meets girl.
Boy screws girl.
Girl gets knocked up.

That was my story with Brandon Jeffers, power hitter for the Washington Rampage and baseball’s biggest bad boy. He came into my life like a line drive to the face, and he left without looking back.

It’s okay though, because I’m determined to raise this baby on my own. I mean, women for centuries have navigated parenthood alone…why should I be any different?

But when the major league star shows up on my doorstep making promises I know he can’t keep, my defenses go up and my expectations stay low.

Brandon says he can clean up his act…

I’ll believe it when I see it.

I’d like to thank give me books promotions for sending me an e-arc of this book, this is also the 2nd book I’ve read by Megan Green, I read the Off-Season which was the first book and that followed Ian and Lexi. In the Cleanup, we focus on Brandon and Liv, I liked both of these characters from the moment we met them in the Off-Season.

Liv was really sarcastic, strong-willed and really headstrong. I had to admit I almost thought I was going to hate this book when she finds out she’s pregnant she doesn’t want to tell Brandon and I was not okay with that. So when Lexi butts her nose and tells Ian who then tells Brandon to go back to Liv. I’m like yes. I loved that although Liv wanted to do it on her own she did let Brandon in and let him be with her and prove that he wanted to be in the baby’s life.

Brandon, he made me swoon I loved his character. Although he was a bit of a manwhore he was a nice manwhore! He cared about his friends and family, and when he found out Liv was pregnant he was straight there and trying to prove he wanted to be involved in his baby’s life. I also loved their first official like date it was so cute and romantic, I loved the fact that he got her a carriage like he totally took a guess about it, working at with what she liked and it was just so cute and romantic. I loved their relationship.

Charlie! He was adorable I loved the bond between him and Liv, also when he found out she was pregnant he told her what she needed to her and I loved that. I also loved seeing Ian and Lexi in this book again it was adorable! I hated Jayne and Liv’s mum like I really didn’t understand what they were even about, their actions made no sense but it also made no sense to the characters either which I thought was good.

I really enjoyed this story, it’s characters and the writing! I rated this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wingman – Katie McCoy

Wingman – Katie McCoy

39883880Chase McKenna is the hottest bartender in the city… and he knows it. Sexy, charming, and abs for days? It’s no wonder every girl who walks through the doors is panting for him.

Except me.

I’m stuck crushing on my perfect boss, who has zero idea I’m even alive. I need a plan to catch his attention… and who better to teach me the tricks of seduction than Mr. Panty—Dropper himself?

The rules are simple: no strings, no stress, and definitely no feelings. But it turns out, Chase is way more than I bargained for, and as for the sparks flying between us…?

You can’t teach chemistry like this.

Soon, we’re throwing our lesson plan out the window — and our clothes right after it. We’re breaking all the rules, and my heart’s on the line, but now I’m wondering…

Must all good flings come to an end?

I’d like to thank Give me book promotions for sending me an e-arc of this book, it is much appreciated! This is a spin-off of the book Rascals which I also read and loved! So I went into this with high expectations and of course they were met! This book melted my heart, Kelsey also gets on my nerves slightly but I’ll go into that in a second.

Kelsey, I loved her personality and how cheeky and fun she could be! Also when she was with Chase how confident she was then. What slightly annoyed me with Kelsey is she was always putting herself down when it came to her body image, and that she was always comparing herself to other women which were slightly annoying, because it was like she struggled to see the good parts of herself at times. So slightly annoying other than that I really enjoyed Kelsey’s character.

Chase, oh I loved his cocky self-confidence it was brilliant! Although he was at times so blind to his own feelings for Kelsey as well as hers for him. I thought his little lessons were funny, and that they were just a really awesome couple. I loved how their relationship grew and all though they were meant to be lessons when he started getting jealous I couldn’t help but think yes! Even more so when Kelsey’s boss was around. I loved their banter with each other.

I enjoyed this story so much and of course I enjoyed seeing all our lovely side characters, I can’t wait for their books, the more we see them the more I want those books!

I loved how supportive Kelsey was of Chase’s beer making, and that she was interested in the process as well. I loved that, and the fact Kelsey even left alone time with her boss who she had a major crush on to go and support Kelsey. They are goals.

I also loved how supportive of Kelsey Chase was when it came to her family, her mother was an absolute nightmare and I loved when Chase stuck up for her and made her feel better rather than shit. He brought her confidence back up for her and I absolutely loved that! This story was so cute and I rated it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

38464315He’s keeping me up all night long…

Emerson Hayes is sexy, arrogant, and has abs that would put a Hemsworth to shame. He’s also opening a bar with his buddies right below my apartment. Goodbye, peace and quiet, hello sleepless nights fantasizing about my hot new landlord…

But when my stuffy workplace makes it clear I need a plus-one for our events, I have the perfect way to even the score. Emerson is A+ arm-candy… as long as I can resist taking a bite. Our arrangement is supposed to be just for show, but Emerson is like that fifth shot of tequila: tempting, intoxicating, and liable to leave me flat on my back with my panties around my ankles, begging for more.

Maybe I should stay for just one more round…

I’d like to thank Give me book promotions for sending me an e-arc of this book in preparation for the spin-off release book.

I loved the chemistry between Emerson and Alex, and the way they met in the elevator was hilarious! It was such a funny, cute, heartwarming story. I enjoyed this story so much and after reading the Young Elites it was exactly what I needed and it gave me everything I wanted. It was off to such a great and humorous start and I soon fell in love with both Emerson and Alex.

I loved that Alex was a lawyer a high powered female, who was working hard to get what she wanted and was willing to put in the extra work to get what she wanted. She made it straight to the partners of her law firm that she would not use her relationship with Emerson to gain business with his dad which I respected the hell out of. Like you go girl!

Emerson after meeting his dad you understood way more where his passion for the bar came from and how well he wanted the bar to succeed and I loved that he was so focused on it doing well.

I love that bar.

I also loved the side characters, Chase, Sawyer, Dante and Liam all of Emerson’s friends who also had a stake in the bar, I enjoyed how they came together to do it. I loved how we also got to see an insight to them as well and that they were so rounded characters and they felt incredibly real. I also loved Hayley (Emerson’s sister) I loved how she managed to boss all the boys around. I’m going to say it now. I think there is a thing between her and Dante. We’ll see if I turn out to be right because I’m sure each of the boys is getting their own story. I could be wrong about that.

As I say I really enjoyed the story, it was nice cute, angsty drama filled and I couldn’t have asked for anything better!

39731876Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations…

He wore suits and I wore biker boots.
He went to University and I went to Trade school.
He lived in a big home and I lived in a tiny apartment.

When my world was turned upside down,
he took me in his arms and promised to help me find a new direction.
Now I’ve lost my job,
been separated from my friends,
and any day an eviction notice was bound to show up.

Unfortunately, my journey was tougher than he had imagined.
When nothing goes right, look who’s left.

I’d like to thank L. Woods PR for sending me an e-arc of this book it is very much appreciated! I have fallen in love with Danielle Norman’s book they are fabulous! I have read Enough, Almost & Impact and I loved all of them so I knew this was going to be no different and I was going to fall in love with it! I was right! I fell in love hard and fast for this story!

I really enjoyed Leo’s character! I loved how she tried so hard to be independent even not wanting to accept help when she needed it, she was so stubborn at times. So when she let people help her it was so good! She was such a strong female character and I loved the fact she was a biker and didn’t feel the need to dress in girly clothes or feel the need to try and justify who she was especially to her mother who just irritated me so much through this novel.

I loved Ian, he was so funny and just his reaction to falling in love with Leo and sleeping with her and some of his comments was just quite funny. I loved his character. I loved how he just wanted to help Leo and then when she kept refusing his help he just went ahead and did it any way I loved it.

I loved their relationship and their story! It was honestly just so sweet and cute especially knowing that Leo had a crush on Ian since she was little. It was just sweet how he just wanted to be there and help also be a shoulder that he could cry on. It did make me laugh how awkward Ian and Leo are with each other, the night after they sleep together it had me proper laughing, it was so funny!

I loved the greek family. I think I’ve said that in every review of Danielle Norman’s book! Either way it doesn’t make it any less true! I love how supportive they are and it’s just amazing. I loved seeing the other Iron Orchid’s again, also just I loved seeing all the other characters from the other novels. It just it’s great to see them and see them progress from their story from when they appear in this one. I love it.

The story is very suspenseful! The plot was different to the other stories as it was more suspenseful and you kind of had to suss out who was framing Leo for the crimes (trying to be vague). From the moment it all happened I did guess who it was and I was right. Although I guessed it, I still loved it. Such an amazing plot!

A fabulous story I rated this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Kenzie and the Guy Next Door – R. Linda

Kenzie and the Guy Next Door – R. Linda

40169351The last thing I expected was my ex-boyfriend showing up unannounced, demanding to see our son. The son whose existence he’d previously never bothered to acknowledge, leaving me a single mother at sixteen years old.

As if I’m not freaked out enough, I also have to deal with a loud, annoying new neighbour on top of it all.

Imagine my surprise when I discover my neighbour is none other than Jeremy, my best friend’s dangerously hot brother, who was recently released from prison.

I’m sure he’s a complication I definitely don’t need. But then he inserts himself effortlessly into my life, becoming my hero, my saviour, and someone my son can look up to, and I realize how much I actually need him.

But my ex isn’t backing off, making me wonder what he’s capable of—and how far Jeremy will go to keep us safe.

I’d like to thank Lady Amber Tours for sending me an e-arc of this book very much appreciated! I love R. Linda’s books they get me so hooked and I just want to devour them and I have with this series! I have read Bailey and The Bad Boy, Indie and the Brother’s Best Friend & Harper and the One-Night Stand and I loved them, in fact, I rated them all 5 stars they were quick and easy reads and this one was no different! It was amazing.

So this one follows Kenzie who is Ryder’s sister and I loved her story from the moment we met her in Bailey and the Bad Boy I knew it was going to be a good story! Kenzie was such a good mum and she was so protective of Cole and it was cute and adorable. I also loved how she wanted to try and just be as strong as possible without getting her brother involved and I loved that she just cared for everyone!

Jeremy oh my god I think I fell in love with him faster than any of the other boys from the other novels. The way he played and interacted with Cole made my heart melt it was absolutely perfect! It was some of my favourite parts of the novel. I also loved how protective and helpful he was with Kenzie when it came to Chase being creepy and an ass.

I loved that Kenzie and Jeremy managed to equally share their past together, like with Kenzie and her past with Chase, and then Jeremy being in Prison and then being reunited with his sister Harper. I just loved their relationship as a whole!

I loved seeing all the characters we got to know and love from the other novels! I like it when authors let us see all the other characters and make them a big part! It’s a big major thing for me in novels and I loved it!

Chase wow he turned into a proper psycho by the end of this novel, how he kept stalking Kenzie and spying on her. To me it had nothing to do with that he wanted to see his son, it was like he just wanted Kenzie and was prepared to do anything to get with her. Although I loved this novel, I was disappointed by one thing and that was the fact I felt like the Chase thing was wrapped up fast. We literally get an update in the epilogue and in a way I get it, shows how insignificant he is in Kenzie and Cole’s life but I wasn’t overall satisfied with it.

I loved this novel! I rated it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Flame of Battle (Dragonriders of Skala #1) – Pauline Creeden & Melinda R. Cordell

Flame of Battle (Dragonriders of Skala #1) – Pauline Creeden & Melinda R. Cordell

39834285In the flame of battle, even the innocent get burned…

Dyrfinna is a born commander. She bests her peers in dragon riding, sword fighting, and battle strategy. So when the Queen calls the people of Skala to battle to revenge her murdered daughter, Dyrfinna outfits a ship and brings a crew.

Once in the field, Dyrfinna leads her troops to victory in a series of hard-fought battles against overwhelming odds. Yet a commander is raised over her, and because of his clumsy leadership, a great disaster results in the massacre of a quarter of the Queen’s army. Then the commander unfairly blames a second disaster on Dyrfinna. The wrong stroke of her sword could undo everything she’s ever worked for, earn her the fury of her friends … and exile to certain death.

But you can’t keep a true warrior down. When things are darkest, a flame rises out of the desolation.

I’d like to thank Lady Amber Tour’s for sending me an e-arc of this book! Amber herself contacted me and asked if I wanted to read a fantasy book that needed a few more people on the tour. So I was like why not? And this is that book!

This book was very fast paced and I loved reading all about the battle, we had a very strong female character and that was Dyrfinna. I love the world building in this story it is so great and vivid and an even better thing. DRAGONS. Mother fucking Dragons! I love me some dragons.

Dyrfinna is a brilliant character strong, a great swordsman and a good commander in the battle. I just missed you know description about her and I wanted to know more about her and I didn’t get that.

There were loads of characters that sometimes it was just hard to keep up with and in the end, I did lose who was who. The one thing I did miss in this book is a pronunciation guide. After reading this whole book I can still barely pronounce majority of the names in this book, so that would have really been helpful. I had to admit other than the battle and why they were fighting I was a little clueless about what was going off.

The ending kept me hooked and I kind of wanted to keep reading find out how’d she would get off the island but through some of the other stuff I just found myself a bit uninterested. It looked really good but it just wasn’t for me! I rated this book ⭐️⭐️

Professor’s Kiss – Sienna Blake

Professor’s Kiss – Sienna Blake

39683252Danny O’Donaghue.
Indie rock god.
Lady killer.
The devil with midnight hair and blue-flame eyes.

After six years I thought the pain of what he’d done to me had faded.
Guess not.
Because I’m standing in this crowded lecture hall of the most prestigious music school in Ireland, staring at the person who healed me when I was broken. Right before he shattered me beyond repair.
And I still feel everything.

My ex-best friend.
My first love.
My tormentor.

…is now my professor.

I’d like to thank Sienna and Terrie for sending me an e-arc of this book, it is a spinoff to Irish Kiss which I read earlier this year, I really enjoyed it. I fell in love with this book it got me in the spin and it was just perfect. It is a way more better than Irish Kiss and it was fantastic!

I really enjoyed the plot to this, I also loved although Ailis did have cancer when she was younger it didn’t take a central focus to the story that she used it to gain what she wanted which I thought was really good. I liked the attraction both Ailis and Danny had for each other and how they were trying so hard to fight it.

Ailis I loved her character, the way she tried to be so strong around Danny and then eventually she was strong enough to deal with him. I loved how passionate she was about music and yet when it came to performing in front of Danny she had stage fright. I loved how she wanted to concentrate on her music.

Wow at so many times Danny was an asshole. But he always believed in Ailis and what she could do with her music and I loved that. Despite wanting to push her away he still believed in her music. So many times his emotions were in a spin because for some odd reason he was pushing away. We do discover why but I won’t spoil that for you guys!

The story is told in dual point of view and we go from the past to the present and I loved how we got to see their relationship in the past and then the rebuilding in the present. I do have to say in some stories not many quotes stick out but this one did:

“I’ve only just learned how to breathe without you.”

This absolutely destroyed me. I have never felt so much pain than when I read this line, the emotions I felt. I could totally relate. It’s such a beautiful story, and it honestly destroyed me. Something about Sienna Blake’s writing just gets to me and she writes some of the most beautiful stories. That quote will always stick with me when I think of this book!

It’s an amazing story and an amazing book! I rated it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
