Force – M. Malone & Nana Malone

I am the shadow that haunts the night. I am a hunter, a protector…a force for good…I am Jonas Castillo.

For years I’ve existed on the edge of the dark, protecting innocents who can’t protect themselves. Until… her. Jessica JJ Jones. The bane of my existence. A bright light in the dark. The crack in my armor. A loud, argumentative beautiful crack in my armor.

But first, there’s a more immediate concern. JJ is running scared. And to protect her I might have to break the vow I made years ago.

This is the first novel I have read of M. Malone and Nana Malone, I really enjoyed the description of this novel but when I began to read it I felt really thrown off I don’t know if it’s because it felt like you needed to know some other information it felt really out of place for me and it kind of made me a little confused. I loved the protection security business place and that they had together. I liked how it worked especially in terms of helping abused women who may have trouble with domestic abuse as well as other disgusting people.

I loved the banter that Jonas and JJ had together and that they had a fiery connection with banter and I did love the scenes that they were together and when they were bantering with each other it truly was one of my favourite parts of the novel. I just had a slight trouble connecting to the characters and I don’t know why. Whether it could be because I wasn’t in the mood for this story I don’t really know.

That cliffhanger! It was amazing, the cliffhanger I want to read the next book I’m thinking maybe a re-read of this one in order first. I rated this ⭐️⭐️.5

Crown of betrayal – Graceley Knox

91e92-crown2bof2bbetrayal2bcoverNow that the threat to Ever is imprisoned and gone for good, she can focus on what really matters: getting rid of the goblins living in her house as “protection” and getting back to work capturing rogue Fae for the Magical Enforcement and Containment Agency. Too bad fate doesn’t agree with her plans.

Ever’s mother is still missing, and Ever and her crew must find an ancient race long believed dead. As questions pile up and danger creeps closer, Ever can no longer deny the pull Dare has over her heart. And her body. As they forge a new bond, betrayal strikes, and it’s closer to home than either of them could have imagined.

Trouble stirs. Alliances fall. The only thing that binds them together is the trust they’ve put in each other and the emotions Ever refuses to name. Everything starts to crumble, and those Ever protects are no longer free from danger. Will she keep those she holds dear safe? Or will she be left to pick up the pieces?

Thank you Bare Naked Words for sending me an earc of this book it is much appreciated! I also have a review for the first book you should probably read that before this: Mark of Truth book 1 is fantastic and book 2 was also fantastic. This book definitely did not suffer from 2nd book syndrome it was amazing fast paced and it threw you straight into the action. We still have the glossary at the beginning of the book and it is very helpful to remind you of those words that you don’t understand so that was really helpful! The prologue throws you straight into the action and it gives you a hint of what will happen later in the book. I also enjoyed the little recap of the laws that Ever does when exploring her feelings for Dare.

THE BABY GARGEYOLES WERE STILL THERE. SO BLOODY CUTE. I just had to put that out there I love those little things!

I love the sass that Ever and her whole crew have especially when they are tracking down fugitives I really liked it and I liked the fact that whilst doing something dangerous they can still keep it light hearted!

Dare and Ever they are so cute I love how the relationship develops between them. I love how despite the consequences he was willing to stick by her and just be there for her. They are so cute together I love it so much! I do honestly believe they are mates.

I also loved that when Meca suspended Ever that her crew stuck by her and walked out of Meca with her and I really love the loyalty that they hold together. I love how easy they can

There are some very well written sex scenes and I liked that they are very well written! The scent marking was so hilarious and I loved it! It actually made me laugh out loud. It was great.

Ever really acted like a parent to Arela and I loved the scenes that they had together. I also loved how baby gargoyles anarchy and chaos were by Arela’s side when she wasn’t with Ever. It was so cute.

Aim – L.P. Dover

When someone asks what I do for a living, I answer it plain and simple . . . I’m a hunter. I hunt the dregs of society and I’m very damn good at it.

Do I like to kill people? No, but it’s part of my job.

I’m Ian Chandler, FBI agent and a member of the Circle of Justice, an organization of justice seeking vigilantes. My mission is to solve a string of ‘accidental’ hiking deaths occurring around my Wyoming town. When Grace Myers –a woman who’s been missing for days –shows up on my land, it turns out she’s the key to it all. Someone is hunting her, and I make it my duty to keep her safe.

However, the deeper I get into the case, the more dangerous it becomes; especially, now that I’ve fallen for the woman I have to protect. If hunting is the game, I won’t fail. I always hit my mark.

So I would like to thank give me books promotions for sending me an arc of this book! I loved this I signed up for the blitz because the description sounded fabulous! And that was exactly what I got. The beginning of this story reminded me of an episode of Criminal Minds and Sea patrol and I absolutely loved it! It was action packed from the beginning and it was fantastic it didn’t slow down. Everything felt urgent, life or death and I loved it.

The writing was amazing I could really feel the emotions as well as the stakes, you could feel the fear and when she felt safe and you could even feel how both Ian and Grace felt about each other as well as family and friends. I loved feeling those things from the writing, it’s been a while since I have managed to feel that from a book so it was amazing.

I really liked that Grace and Ian already knew each other and had that connection and or they had to do was act on it, from both of the characters you could tell that there was a bond there and I loved it.

I also loved the FBI side of the story especially Ian being a killer/hunter although probably vigilante would be a better word, especially as he kills bad people and scum of the earth. I loved how all of his family was involved with the FBI too and I enjoyed the family aspect from Reed, Ian and Bryce. I loved Reed and Grace’s friendship and how they bonded when Ian was out getting information on who wanted Grace dead. I loved how Grace and Bryce meet for the first time, she does not expect Ian to be an identical twin and that was one of my favourite parts of this book. It made me laugh so much and I really did love it. I really liked how Grace was not scared of the job they do and understand that it is necessary for them to keep evil out the world.

The plot kept me hooked the romance did not overtake the story, there were no plot holes and everything for me fitted correctly nothing seemed out of place. I felt the reasons for wanting people dead in this novel were pretty pathetic but then again they were pretty pathetic people.

Grace is a very strong willed character and knows how to take care of herself and it shows when she quits her job and when it came to paying her rent for the apartment when she was “Dead.” There were great characters and great story! I would love to read the others in the series because if it is anything like this it’s fantastic! I rated this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Trying Sophie – Rebecca Norinne

Sex and rugby are the only things I care about. I play hard and f*ck even harder.

Until my first love waltzes back into my life and I’m given a second chance to right the wrongs of my past.

She doesn’t want to forgive me, but I’ll use everything at my disposal to make her see I’ve changed. That I can be the man she wants me to be.

I’ve never pursued a woman the way I chase down opponents on the field, but this time I won’t back down. I won’t let her run away again.

Sophie was my first love. I’m going to be her last.

I read this book in preparation for the sequel which is going to be released in a few days and I am so excited for it. One thing that really was great about this book is that it had a little glossary on how to pronounce the names I didn’t really need it but it is very helpful for those who do need it! Especially as they are Irish names!

Sophie is such a strong character and she really struggled to let people in I am not surprised though because when we meet her mother also the only time. Her mum is a cold hearted and selfish bitch. She didn’t tell Sophie about her granddad’s heart attack, so instantly I hated the mum. I loved her grandparents Maureen and Colm they are the sweetest and I love how motivated they are. They were just great.

I loved this book in so many different ways, there were so many times during this book I laughed out loud! One of them being when Declan picks Sophie up from the airport and realises who he actually is. Her childhood tormenter! But she doesn’t let him off easy she, in fact, tells him that he made her life hell and I absolutely loved her standing up for herself and Declan finally realises the pain he caused her and I loved that. Declan also admits how much of a slut he is and it really did make me laugh how he wasn’t even ashamed to admit all that!

Declan although a little slut is still very cautious with people and is worried that people will use him for his money there is a scene where Sophie asks for a favour and he gets kind of taken back thinking it could be for money and I think that told us a lot about his character before we actually got into the nitty gritty stuff of him. So we had little clues about both of these characters as we got to know them.

Cian he is the person who works sometimes at the pub but he is also supposedly Declan’s best friend but he is majorly jealous of Declan and it shows and ripples through their friendship as well as their actions with Sophie.

Declan and Sophie go through a game of pushing each other away as soon as they begin to get close and eventually when they do finally admit their feelings for each other they fall for each other hard. They fall in love with each other and when they both realise that they love each other it’s so funny. They keep it to themselves.

One of the side characters I loved was Aoife who is Declan’s younger sister and when certain problems come between Declan and Sophie she was there defending her big brother and it was the cutest thing ever. The spin off story Ruck me (Out 9/8/17) is about Aofie and I honestly can’t wait to read it!

The story was sweet an amazing end, I loved the writing, the characters made me fall in love with them hard. It was a cute romantic story and even better that I could imagine the majority of them talking in an Irish accent because I love an Irish accent! I definitely cannot wait for Ruck me when it comes out!

Blood Magic – Danielle Rose

Avah Taylor thought she had already faced the worst.

As her coven’s chosen one, destined to receive a power that could kill her, Avah was forced to make the ultimate sacrifice when she gave up her mortal life to become a vampire, the witches’ greatest enemy. But just when she begins to adjust to her new life, even as she falls in love with her sire, the high priestess of her new coven is seized by Rogue vampires.

Guided by Avah’s visions of the past, present, and future, Avah and the other vampires set out to rescue their priestess, but their journey leads Avah to the discovery that the conspiracy behind her power runs deeper than she ever imagined. As her visions grow increasingly terrifying, Avah begins to wonder if she may not have a future at all.

I really loved the small recap we had in the beginning chapters it helped remind you what had happened in Blood Rose the first book so I thought that was very helpful! It helped remind me too! I liked that Avah and Jasik when they did have disagreements especially when it came to problems in their relationships, they acted like adults and spoke it through instead of going off and causing unnecessary drama.

I loved watching Avah learning about her abilities and new things when it comes to her powers and seeing her master the powers. We also discover some information to do with Avah, I don’t want to say it because it will ruin the story. But it was really interesting seeing Avah’s reaction once it is revealed. Avah also has a conversation with her mum and it was a much-needed one and we see it affect Avah and it’s very interesting how she does deal with it. Avah is a very strong character and she never backs down when she’s told she can’t do something and she always fights for it. Which I love!!

Jeremiah really felt like comic relief at times and he was so funny, the same with Lillie and Sebastian they were very snarky and at times it brought some comic relief to the book but it didn’t take from it either and I loved that.

Sebastian, I was unsure about him at the end of the first book but I really grew to like him and how he cared for Avah and protected her numerous times and I did really like that. Although for him it was a little more than friendly, but it was only one sided but I loved the relationship that built especially with both of them being hybrids.

I really like Jasik’s reactions when he sees that Avah has masted her mind reading abilities it was the most funniest thing ever, it was one of my favourite moments in this book so I felt the need to mention it!

The sex scenes in the book were very well written and didn’t feel trashy at all.

The cliffhangers Danielle Rose is brilliant she is the Queen of cliffhangers! She always does the best cliffhangers and it makes you just want the next one immediately. Believe me, I do want the next one, she is an amazing author and it just pulls you into the world she creates. She truly does have a gift for writing and I can’t wait to see what she does now!

Mr Right Now – Lila Monroe

“I’m face-down in forty glorious inches of cock cake, seriously reassessing my life choices, when suddenly I hear it. The voice that launched a thousand teenage boy-band dreams. My #1 crush, Drew Delaney himself.”

Ten years ago, Drew was boy-band royalty: the subject of a million teenage fantasies – and the guy next door. He was so far out of my league, I couldn’t see him for stars, but now I’m back in town for our high-school reunion, guess who I run into but Mr. Right-Now himself…

Older. Hotter. And still sexy enough to make me forget about the glittery white frosting currently smeared across my chest.

Sparks are flying, and so are my panties, and soon, our trip down memory lane has taken a detour to ‘oh my god, don’t stop!’. Population: me.

But can I turn Mr. Right-Now into Mr. Forever? Or will crazed fans, vicious yoga moms, and three dozen cock-sicles (don’t ask) doom our romance to the ‘Where are they now?’ section of MTV’s greatest hits?

You’ll be begging for a taste of Lila Monroe’s new sexy, laugh-out-loud summer romance!

I would like to thank give me book promotions and the author for sending me an earc of this book I really enjoyed it and I hope to read more from this author. The book starts with Maggie coming back home after her business failed and moving in with her mum. I love that Maggie bakes and not just normal cakes but adult cakes ones where she can sometimes make cock cakes there is a lot of banter between Maggie and Drew as when he first bumps into her again she is covered in cock cake. The book is so humorous and there were many times that I did, in fact, laugh out loud.

At one point Drew and Maggie end up in a bar where they play a drinking game with shots and they both admit some embarrassing and bad stuff in their lives, it was very amusing. I really liked how they did that and it skipped the embarrassing parts of their relationship. But this was one of my favourite scenes in the whole book. I feel it needed a mentioning! Another scene that was super funny is when she asks Drew to be a stripper I chuckled so much reading it!

I loved the connection that Drew and Maggie had and that they could have an honest relationship with each other. How he was so supportive of her when she got business offers, I just loved how the relationship built between them they are so cute!

There were 2 other characters that appeared to create some drama and that is Becky she acts like she is still in high school, she even tries to ruin a business opportunity for Maggie. I really didn’t like her, where all the other characters acted older and their age she still seemed like she was in school. Charlie another character was in the band with Drew and he was so selfish just assuming that Drew would do stuff, he redeems himself by the end but I still didn’t like him.

The whole book was so cute and I loved the feeling that Lila managed to create whilst reading this story. I rated this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hot Bachelor – Katie McCoy

I just landed my dream summer gig: working as a production assistant on TV’s smash-hit reality show, Ever After. Two months of sun and fun at the beach? Sign me up! Until the moment I come face to face with this season’s bachelor, racing’s bad boy Dash – aka, the mysterious hottie I just hooked up with at a creepy motel off the I-80.

Can you say, awkward?

Dash is sexy, charming – and totally off-limits. But the chemistry between us is way too hot to ignore. He’s playing to win, and he’s got his sights set on the prize: me!

Soon, the action is heating up off-screen. But between ratings-hungry producers, back-stage drama, and twelve of the most cutthroat glamazon contestants known to womankind, I’m in way over my head. Can I find my happily-ever-after, or will it be lights, camera, heartbreak?

The Bachelor gets a rom-com twist in Katie McCoy’s hilarious, sexy new read!

I really liked how this story began with the flight being diverted we learnt a lot about Paige and Dash and then they went on the small road trip and I really enjoyed it. I loved the banter between Dash and Paige it really did make laugh and it was some of my favourite parts of the book.

I also really liked that we got to see behind the scenes of the television programme and the set it was so interesting and because I obviously have a degree in theatre and media it was even more interesting to me. I loved seeing how it worked and it added to the story I really did enjoy it.

I really liked how we discovered the reason why Dash was doing the programme and I liked how we learnt about each of them. And how information was revealed to the reader. I liked how Paige and Dash built their relationship.  The actual getting together of Paige and Dash was very fast and slow burning they kept getting interrupted and it was so entertaining watching the frustration from both characters. I really liked Paige as a character being head strong and knowing what she wanted but also not willing to sacrifice her morals to get what she wanted. I really loved that about her. The romance between Dash and Paige I loved how they could banter with each other so much and how they built their relationship after their initial meeting. I just loved it. I wish we could have gotten to know more about them as people, it would have been a 4-5 star review if that was the case. But overall a good fun loving read! I’ll definitely be reading more from Katie McCoy!

I really loved how Paige stuck up for Dash even though they weren’t together at the time. Which was obviously that although she could have had a promotion instead she stuck up for him against the producers of the programme and I really liked that. I also loved the way that they said I love you to each other.

It was cute and I really enjoyed the story. I rated this ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
