All I wanted was some no-strings attached sex, where small talk wasn’t necessary. There’d be no reminders of laundry that needed to be done and my endless list of responsibilities could be forgotten.

Signing up for the Timber dating app was my answer. No wining or dining; just sex. Those were my rules. I never imagined I’d meet champion lumberjack Magnus Andersen, or that he’d be interested in me.

We’re from two different worlds. He lives a life of luxury, while I’m barely making ends meet. He’s prime rib and I’m mac and cheese.

But the more I get to know him the less those differences seem to matter. He thinks this could work and I just might be crazy enough to believe him.

Not even a year after marrying the guy she’d thought was the
love of her life, Cora Knowles is already requesting a divorce. To her
recollection, philandering was not a part of her wedding vows, and she wasn’t
about to stand by while ‘Sally from accounts’ rolled about on her Egyptian
cotton sheets.
While trying to soothe her broken heart with copious amounts
of cake and liqueur chocolates, her best friend, Olivia suggests that the best
way to get over someone, is to get under someone else. Problems arise when the
one Cora ‘gets under’ turns out to be the son of the Director of
Prosecution—her boss. Worse still, he’s young. Younger than Cora originally
thought, and younger than she’s comfortable with.
But, when the attraction is undeniable, Cora needs to decide
whether she’ll turn her back on the enigmatic Brandon Sharp, or take a risk and
follow her heart, even though she promised herself she’d never do that again…

“Hashtag that one ‘slaying life’,” Olivia
suggested. “That bastard will see how happy you look and realise how badly
he fucked up.” She sucked back on a cigarette then blew the smoke out in a
rush. “Come to think of it. We need to go out tonight. That will really piss
him off. You can post photos and everything.”
“Go out?” The idea seemed completely insane to me.
She stubbed out her cigarette in a small aluminium ashtray.
“Yes, Cora. I love you, and I think you’re gorgeous, but lying on my couch for
months on end, eating liqueur chocolates while watching Netflix isn’t doing a
thing for your figure.”
“Jack always said that saying ‘but’ meant you could discount
everything that was said before it.”
She picked up her Prada handbag and slid it over her arm.
“Fuck Jack. You should discount everything he ever said to you before the
moment you saw his butt as he pumped that Sally woman from behind in your
marital bed.”
My stomach soured at the memory. “Don’t remind me.”
He didn’t speak at first, he just slid one hand over my hip
until it flattened possessively against my stomach, pulling me against him as
his head lowered to the curve of my neck and he inhaled deeply. I could barely
breathe. Every nerve in my body was alive and screaming for more. I had never,
ever, ever, ever, ever, had this reaction to a man before. The question of
whether or not I could go through with a one-night stand suddenly became a moot
point. His touch had already melted my panties right off.
“Want to get out of here?” His voice cut through every other
sound in the room, so clear. It felt like a wild promise curling through my
body until it pooled as a heat between my thighs.
His head lolled back against the wall as my hand wrapped
around his base before I drew him into my mouth, swallowing him back with a
greed I never knew I possessed. Who was this woman? I was giving head like a
porn star on my knees in a hotel room with a stranger.
I’d never felt so free in my entire life.
He was on his knees. I was still against the wall, panting,
waiting. Reaching up, he popped the clasp on my bra then dragged his fingers
down the skin of my back, hooking my panties, dragging them down too. Then with
a groan, he grabbed my arse cheeks, squeezing hard before he bit down. My eyes
went wide and I gasped, a bolt of lust landing right in the centre of my core.
What the hell was that?
“That arse.” The words were a rumble against my skin as he
stood back up, spinning me so I was facing him again. I let my bra fall down my
arms and his eyes darkened. “Those tits.”

When he arrives–single, with no intent to marry, he’s shocked to learn that the town has unanimously approved his pastoral appointment to the newly refurbished 100-year-old Baptist church. Despite his divinity training, Jared never intended to pastor a church—not when his specialty is psychological profiling.
As fate would have it, the evil spirits that begin to permeate the town and its good-hearted citizens shortly after his arrival challenge his technical skills, experience and community relationships. To complicate matters, a local angel finds herself in the eye of the storm causing Jared to re-evaluate his past and question his future.

“Are you
okay, Delia?” The voice in her ear was familiar; she’d heard it nearly every
day for the past year, even if she hadn’t seen the man in person for weeks on
end.
Her boss.
Jager McNeill.
“Fine,” she
spluttered, the word ending in a cough.
Of course,
it was foolish to be embarrassed since she had dived in the water to save a
child. And yet, it still felt terribly awkward to be caught with her dress up
around her waist today of all days when she’d wanted to make the perfect
professional impression.
Also, she’d
scratched him.
Coughed all
over him.
If she
hadn’t had a crush on him once upon a time, maybe she wouldn’t be tingling from
head to toe right now in spite of everything. But she feared if she tried to
swim away from him to escape all the feelings, she just might drown. She was
surprised to notice how far she’d drifted from the dock in her search. Behind
them, she noticed the transport skiff that Cyril had sent out to meet Jager’s
seaplane. Jager must have been arriving at the same time she’d jumped into the
water.
“Hold onto
my shoulders,” he told her, shifting their positions in the water so he faced
her. “I’ll tow you to the dock.”
Nose to
nose with him, Delia stared up into his steel-blue eyes. She thought she’d
gotten used to his good looks in the past two years that they’d known each
other. His dark hair and sharp, shadowed jaw made for enticing contrasts to
those incredibly blue eyes. His hair had grown longer in the past months, as if
barber visits were the last thing on his mind. But the way the damp strands
curled along the strong column of his neck only added to the appeal.
This close,
she had the benefit of sensing the wealth of muscle in his athletic body where
he held her. Feeling the flush of heat course through her, she ducked deeper
into the cold water to hide her reaction to him.
“I can make
it.” Shaking her head, she scattered droplets from her wet hair. “I just needed
to catch my breath.”
She
attempted to paddle away, but Jager only gripped her tighter.
Oh. My.
Feeling the
warmth of his chest through their clingy clothes roused an ache she should not
be feeling for her boss. Adding to the problem, the strapless bra she’d been
wearing had shifted lower on her rib cage where it did absolutely no good.
“Humor me,”
he ordered her, his voice as controlled as his movements. “You’re exhausted and
dry land is farther away than it looks.” He took one of her hands and placed it
on his right shoulder. Then, turning away from her, he very deliberately set
her other hand on his left shoulder.
He began to
swim toward the dock with measured strokes, towing her along behind him. Water
lapped over them in light waves. She felt every ripple of his muscles under her
palms as the light waves swished over them. She debated fishing one hand down
her dress to haul up her bra before they reached land, but decided the
potential scolding from Jager if she let go of him wasn’t worth it. So she
clung to him and gritted her teeth against the friction of her pebbled breasts
rubbing against his back. By now he had to be as keenly aware of her as she was
of him.
The only
positive of this awkward reunion?
Any anxiety
she had about talking business with him was utterly eclipsed by physical
awareness. So when they reached land, she clamped onto the dock, evenly met his
blue gaze and said, “I definitely deserve a raise.”

Of Smoke & Cinnamon: A Christmas Story – Ace Gray *Release Blitz*

Title: Of Smoke & Cinnamon: A Christmas Story
Author: Ace Gray
Genre: Holiday Second Chance Romance

Release Date: December 13, 2017

Blurb
Camilla Collins hasn’t gone home in thirteen years. As much as she
loves her family, their tiny hometown in the folds of the Colorado mountains
holds too many memories. Memories of a life barely lived and a love barely
realized. No matter how she thrives, AJ Jenkins is the man she compares all
others too. He just so happens to be the one that broke her heart. Seeing him,
seeing the life she might have had with him, has been a very convincing reason
to celebrate the holidays in the Pacific Northwest, happy in the rain instead
of the snow.

AJ Jenkins isn’t exactly bitter and frigid. It’s the below freezing
temperatures, the knee deep snow, and the death of his chronically ill father
dragging him down. That is until Cam Collins finally comes home for Christmas.
After thirteen years, he’d almost given up on seeing her. And was incredibly
happy about it. But thirteen is unlucky for a reason, and apparently that
reason is still a klutzy, gorgeous, living memory determined to poke holes in
his barely hanging on heart with death defying stilettos.

Barely behind me, Cam is bent over the pool table, angling at a difficult shot. Those painted on jeans accentuate curves I don’t remember her having. Curves I want to paw. Then there’s the mysterious tattoo. It cuts across cream colored skin and I want to lick it—lick her—despite everything between us.

To make matters worse, she makes the near-impossible shot. The Cam Collins I know is three things: uncoordinated, callous and the world’s worst pool player. I’d had to help her with every shot she ever took, my body wrapped completely around hers, my hands guiding her every movement. Almost every time she’d look over at me rather than the ball.

But she’s well on her way to running the table.

How long has she had these skills? Did she develop them because I wasn’t there? My heart twists at the thought.

Or, worse, could she always do this, her mind so accustomed to angles and trajectories, but wanted my hands on her?

Fuck.

I don’t know why I’ve thought of the possibility, but it’s the most dangerous one yet because it sucks me back to that warm summer night when we’d played the best game of pool of my life. I’d helped her with each shot. She’d wiggled her ass up against my crotch too many times to count. Just when I thought I was going to have to take her home then jerk off, she’d grabbed my hand and pulled me out to the 13th green behind Molly Merithew’s house.

Crickets chirped, punctuating her labored breathing. There was the slightest warm breeze tickling my skin. I never asked if it was the breeze or me that peaked her nipples when she shimmied out of her white eyelet linen top. I couldn’t really ask anything as Cam stripped naked behind the willow trees and let me have her for the first time, bathed in moonlight. When we snuggled under the stars she wore nothing but my flannel.

I never got that shirt back. I’d sworn off anything remotely related to vanilla, too—that’s what Cam tasted like.

Shit.

That’s what the hidden taste in the bourbon was.

Fuck pool. Fuck this delicious bourbon. And fuck Cam Collins.
